Due to the pandemic, the 7th annual Gala FashionAbility was held “virtually” on February 13, 2021. Attendees watched the professionally produced program from private watch parties and homes. Co-chairs Lisa Ginter, CEO CommunityAmerica Credit Union, and Joel Goldberg, Kansas City Royals Broadcaster introduced the evening, and Joel was joined by the Royals’ commentator Rex Hudler to present the Live Auction and Fund-a-Need portions of the program. Local celebrities Joe Chiodo and Jennifer Bertrand returned to introduce the student models. This year, families filmed their student modeling in iconic locations throughout the Kansas City community and these videos were compiled for the program. The musical performance of “This Is Me” was directed by Grace Mott and was also filmed ahead of time. Due to the outpouring of support from the community, the event’s revenues equaled the previous year’s.
